This crucifix dates to about 1880.  It is one of the prettiest ones we have seen.  The wood box is walnut.  The oval has a bead pattern carved in the wood around the opening.  Under glass there is a crucifix.  Christ is very detailed.  The leaves and vines around the crucifix are carved wood.  The grape leaves are tinted in soft hues.  The grapes are painted a muted gold.  The fabric in the background is a deep scarlet silk satin.  All original and all in perfect condition.  The box is 19 x 27 inches and it is 3 inches deep.
